One of our members shared "I started to read, I mean really read my Bible about 12 years ago and I was living in a very remote part of Australia. I was learning pure gospel, commentary by my side, Christian TV...and no religion. By religion, I mean ritual and ceremony, carried out without God's involvement at all. It wa not until the end of last year; and particularly the beginning of this year that I ran smack bang into religion. A battle I never thought I would have to fight..."
You may or may not agree with this statement, but this person went on to share about this statement and the deep sadness they experienced by what they see in our local churches.
What do people see when they walk into our local churches? Do they run into "religion" or Jesus?
Do they feel welcomed or unwanted? Do they get confused about a Leader's opinion or do they hear the gospel?
We need to be aware of what we are speaking, how we live and act - we want to bring honour to the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Thank you to our member who shared some of their experience with us on Sunday.
